This is a very tender, aromatic, juicy, and incredibly tasty dish. It’s all about the white sauce, which is simple and easy to prepare. Usually, Chicken chops in the oven are prepared with the addition of sour cream or mayonnaise; these products are not needed, only this white sauce. I also use it to prepare regular cutlets (they acquire a wonderful taste), fish, and any meat. These chicken chops are perfect for a holiday table

Ingredients :

500 gr – chicken breast fillet 2 pcs
200 gr – champignons
1 – onion
300 ml – milk
130 gr – semi-hard cheese
30 gr – butter
2 tbsp – l. vegetable oil
1 tbsp – l. flour
1 – pinch nutmeg
ground pepper to taste
salt to taste

Method :

Cut the champignons into medium slices, finely chop the onion, put everything in oil (1 tbsp) in a frying pan, and fry at medium temperature for about 10 minutes, stirring. At the end, add salt and pepper

Melt the butter in a ladle, add flour (1 tablespoon with a small slide), and immediately mix vigorously with a whisk. Fry for 30-35 seconds over low heat (there is little food, so fry quickly so that they do not burn)

Pour in the milk, stirring with a whisk, and cook for about 5 minutes until the sauce begins to thicken. Add a pinch of nutmeg (adds a wonderful taste and aroma) and a pinch of salt. The béchamel sauce will be a bit runny; it will sit for a bit and become thicker. This dish does not require a thick sauce

Cut the chicken breast fillet lengthwise into 2 parts

Cover the pieces of meat with a plastic bag, beat them, and cut them into 2 parts. Sprinkle the chops with salt and pepper and place in a greased form (1 tbsp). The chops are medium in size

Place fried champignons and onions on the chops

Pour white bechamel sauce over everything

Sprinkle with coarsely grated cheese and bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for 15-20 minutes. As soon as everything is covered with a beautiful brown crust, remove the mold
